SAA Black Belt Ranks

bullet

Black Belt Ranks are called "Dan" ranks and denoted by a Black Belt trimmed in Red with each Red Bar denoting what rank is achieved.

bullet

Please keep in mind this is just an estimate...some advance quicker, some slower.   The Martial Arts are not a sprint to the finish line they are more like a marathon race that never has a finish line.  Your as close to perfect technique as you will ever get just before you die!

Seattle Arnis Academy Blocks/Counterstriking

bulletDo not think in terms of traditional blocking...think counterstriking to the attacking hand or limb when possible.
bulletTechniques are broken down for the above number system that Seattle Arnis Academy uses.
bulletType of Block is the name of the technique.  Remember to practice with both R & L hands.  Chart below is for the R. Hand.
bulletAngle of Attack refers to the numbering system above.
bulletStarting position refers to whether your stick is tip up or tip down before starting the technique.
bulletRange refers to High (Head Level) Middle (Torso Level) and Low (Waist & Below)
